This week we analyzed the implications of our (future) solution. Firstly we evaluated the direct and indirect stakeholders in attempting to improve trust in drivers. We found that some direct stakeholders were: Drivers looking to save money, and riders looking to pay less and travel fast. Some of our indirect stakeholders were: worried parents, police records, taxi drivers and even harassment organizations.
We also evaluated unexpected use cases that we didn't expect to find such as; New friendships, relationship and a way to ask friends for carpooling money.
The feel of an application and a service is very important. We evaluated some ethical values that our solution would introduce and cancel out (1) we encourage trusting strangers → we provide multiple ways to validate a driver (2) we want the users to be aware of their spendings by offering cheaper rides → essentially taking an idea of a free carpooling idea and monetizing it.
While examining the feel we would want our solution to have we did an exercise where we related our ideal experience with the experience of being in a museum. Interesting relations that we have found between the two were (1) in a museum one walks through the process a history/development/art and in our service, we wish to walk the user through the process of ordering a ride with the ride driver (2) in a museum there are a set of rules the visitors must be respectful of, in our service we wish, as well, to enforce the rules of respecting each other’s properties, requests and more.
